The Giralda Cathedral in Seville.

Time to explore some of the more exotic locations of Europe. Starting off with Seville, a historic centre in Spain with it's Gothic architecture and enticing mix of palaces, churches and narrow winding medieval streets. A lot of the culture is evident from the night life, traditions are hard to lose it seems here.

Without spending too much time deliberating over where to stay, it would appear that most residences have inherited some level of aristocratic history, showing off the once rich city.

Sure enough, the city was once a metropolis which ushered in the first era of World Trade, helping catapult Spain into early super power status, the Spanish armada being an example.

Look at the streets here, aren't they majestic? Doesn't it make you feel like you're falling in love?

The buildings of this Andalusian city are classically beautiful, and unlike other more roaring parts of the world, there is a lot of emphasis on preserving the Renaissance palaces and Roman tombs.

Probably the most significant landmark in Seville would be the Cateral & Giralda. It is the world's largest gothic cathedral dating back to the early 15th century. It was actually built on top of the original city mosque.

Inside you'll find the tomb of Christopher Columbus as well as the Capilla Mayor's gold altarpiece.

The cathedral has a history dating back to the 15th century but the site itself has an even longer history of Christian worship, going as far back as the 13th century. It was in 1248 that the Castilian King Fernando III captured the city from the Almohad rulers and transformed the mosque into the Church.

Only one hundred and fifty years later, the modified mosque which was damaged by earthquakes would be replaced with the cathedral we see today. The idea was to construct a church so vast that the future generations would marvel at it and think how crazy they were to build such a thing.

After many centuries, the Cathedral has indeed achieved it's original intention of making future generations think how ridiculously large the Cathedral is and we must appreciate how well it has been preserved after all these years.

Seville certainly has a way with it's architecture, the colourful buildings, the orange tree streets, on the backdrop of persistently bright sunny weather makes Seville a real charm.
