The Sultan of Ternate Mosque is proof of the existence of the first Islamic Sultanate in Eastern Indonesia. The Ternate Sultanate began to embrace Islam since the 18th king, in the 14th century AD

The mosque of the Sultan of Ternate was built in the early 17th century, where in that century Ternate had a strong economy and reliable troops. The Sultan Ternate Mosque was built near the Kedaton of the Sultan of Ternate. The Sultan of Kedaton is still occupied by the Sutan family, but Kedaton seems to be ignored, this may be due to the breadth, but even so, the remaining majesty still feels.
