Cascade Peaks from Steamboat Mountain

We are going up to where eagles fly!

So this isn't really the summit of the mountain but gives you a little idea of the elevation of where we are headed. It is about another mile or so around the back of this cliff face to the summit.

The first peak we see is Mt St Helens with some of the visible scars of the 1980 eruption still evident.

Here is another shot on the other side of the trees of some of the blast zone on the north side of St Helens. Unfortunately there is not really a 360 degree view from the summit so you kind of get little glimpses of the peaks on your way to the top.

Here is Mt Rainier to the north.

Mt Rainier.

Goat Rocks in the distance.

Mt Adams. The closest peak we will see this day.

And finally Mt Hood in Oregon to the south with Mt Jefferson to the right of Hood in the haze a little further south. As you can see from this shot it was an extremely hazy day. Hopefully I was able to clean these up enough in Lightroom to make them enjoyable. :)

Thanks for looking and enjoy your day!

Was just in Montana yesterday

Montana is beautiful. I was in the Bitterroot Valley a couple years ago. Unfortunately by SD card in my phone bricked and I lost most my pictures. Guess it is time for a return visit. :)

Gold. From That valley!

Gorgeous! I live just outside of Seattle and am not really a hiker. But then I see these photos and I realize I am really missing one of the best parts of living in Washington. Thanks for sharing these wonderful pics!

You're welcome!

Start small if you want to get into hiking. Look for short hikes to get you acclimated. The feeling you get reaching the end of the trail or just being out in nature is very centering/rewarding. :)

Those are some really beautiful landscapes xou pichured here .. it looks so nice how the mountains show up behind the trees. Thats s grest capture and a really nice are for hiking ^^

Thank you! I never used to think much about framing my shots. On this outing it was almost a must. Now I find myself looking to do it more often. :)

Some awesome mountain photos. Really enjoy seeing it. In Mauritius the mountains are not very big and coming from South Africa I'm used to much bigger than here. Thank you for sharing this post.. I apologize for not upvoting as my VP is a bit low currently. 😅😊

No worries, my VP is NEVER as high as I would like it. I appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment. :)

I have heard of Mauritius but didn't really know where it was. Thank you for helping me expand my geographical knowledge. :)

The VP is a thorn in my side. But yes such is life. And it's my pleasure to teach others something because I learn from you too. I find it a great exchange and best of all is it is free and makes for enjoyable periods spend on steemit seeing places I've never seen before. 😊
