Kobarid

in #photography6 years ago

After we crossed Italian- Slovenian border for the last week of our mini Europe tour, we stopped in the small town named Kobarid. Tourists from Northwestern European countries driving through this area when heading South towards The Adriatic sea for vacation.

It's a nice touristic town known by the great Museum from the first world war, beautiful nature, water sports on the Soca river, and paragliding. Italians like it because it has some good restaurants.

This cannon is one of many that were used in the WW1.

This tree-lined, several kilometers long road, leads you to Italy.

From outside looks like an average building but only after you enter you'll see and understand the real quality of this museum. I never saw something like this.

Here's the church,

The bar counter is amazing and a canvas ceiling also. We got the feeling like we having dinner on the pirate ship.

Some street art.

Fishing on Soca river is very popular activity.

We find this girl in the local shopping center.

Cheese making is centuries old tradition in this part of Slovenia and in Kobarid is a dairy plant where you can buy dairy products and visit a cheesemaking museum.

We finished our visit with a bottle of Slovenian best beer.

I know that many Slovenians will not agree with my choice but I prefer Union over Lasko.

And the color match the crypto market at the moment too.

Cheers.

Lucky man to travel.. I'll be waiting another 10 years or so ;)

This looks like a wonderful place to visit. Thanks for sharing your memories.

Nice article. I see u haven't visited last years worlds best female chef from Kobarid?

Casa Franko is too fancy for me. I like to get some real food for my money.

Now that's risky lol

👋🏻 LOL

Thanks for the super interesting virtual tour @oldtimer.

Mnogo novih i zanimljivih informacija.

Nice shot, so beautiful pics.
Have good time my dear friend.
