A time for some winter flowers!

Here we have a succulent flower and you can see a busy bee!

I walked past a nondescript succulent bush which at a cursory glance looked rather neglected. And so I decided to look a bit closer at the bush
It revealed it's hidden beauties to me.
Here's the story!

Rather drab looking isn't it? This is the succulent bush that I am talking about!

Fabulous isn't it?

At first glance the bush looks like it needs some water and some loving care. But here's the thing, succulents water themselves and they prepare themselves for the seasons. The plants retain water and that's why these hardy plants can even grow in deserts, where no human hand or aid is available. Nature looks after it's own and many succulents also help mankind with their medicinal properties.
And so it is indeed a valuable plant!

I call many humans succulents, as at first glance they look like persons that nobody wants to associate with. But each of us are born with hidden beauties inside of us and one only has to look a little bit closer for the beauty to be revealed.
Motivational speakers and others tell us that your first appearance is crucial, as people can sum you up with a simple cursory look. And so we are taught not to value people if they do not conform to our own standards in appearances.

All life is to be valued, no matter what they look like!
Think about it!

@hungry-nomad Thank you and I use a Canon Powershot SX60 HS. It has a Super Zoom that can also take clear shots of the moon! Blessings!

Great photo my friend, As usually. There is a fly or a bee something like that I see on the plant right.

Thank you and yeah it's some bees! Blessings!

Unusual looking bush @papilloncharity. Great photographs of both the flowers and the bee. 😊

Thank you Lady Gillian, South Africa is blessed with many types of succulents! Blessings! @gillianpearce

Resilient comes to mind, have introduced these and other succulents to the garden, keeping water in mind @papilloncharity

Water is in high demand, human consumption comes first, hence the change in gardening.

There are many colorful flowers on the path of life, but the prettiest have the sharpest thorns. ~ African Proverb

Thank you Lady Joan. Check out pages 109-117 of the Platteland Magazine! As I said before, I love your African proverbs! Blessings! Btw. I've just discovered that the succulent bush in this post is called "Pig's Ears" what a corny name? @joanstewart

The names given to succulents are sometimes bizarre, will look into the magazine thanks.

That first pic is my #1. I'll take a few stings to get that one :)

Hahaha! Can you believe that I'm allergic to bees? Stung 3 times in the past and every time ended up in "Emergency" at the hospitals. Glad you liked the photo! Blessings!
