A Cape Sparrow kisses a Starling good morning!
Join us in our secret resting place.

The Sparrow did not really kiss the starling, it only seems like it. Amidst the throng of cars and people there is a little secluded courtyard where we love to go for tea. It's amazing to see how nature adapts to mankind's designs. Buildings stand stark and have a foreboding nakedness amongst tarred roads and shopfronts are adorned with signs and goods to attract customers. Loud music and squealing cars are the order of the day!
Nary a thought was given to include the beauty of mother nature, as her goods cannot be sold.
Have a look at our little paradise!

The center of this secluded courtyard is commanded by a lovely water fountain!

IMG_5538.JPG

Of course this is not just an ordinary fountain!

IMG_5615.JPG

Here's a closer look at some of the fountain's residents!

Two passing friends here!

A tapestry of fish colors!

IMG_5622.JPG

This little Wagtail is used to fountain drops bombing him!

IMG_5583.JPG

Meantime, the Starling was drying himself on a roof peak!

IMG_5594.JPG

And finally, a lovely cool drink at the fountain!

Amazing how nature makes a home for its residents in human designs, obviously unplanned. each nook and cranny is utilized to house insects and the roof overhangs make ideal homes for bird nests.
The restaurant serves free little homemade biscuits with every tea order and the little birds love the biscuits. We always break the biscuits up for them and place it next to the fountain. Note that its not littering, as the little guys eat even the last tiny crumb.
A peaceful place here amongst the clamor of the town folks!

Howdy sir papilloncharity! wow what marvelous photos you captured! And what a beautiful little courtyard and fountain, this whole post is a thing of beauty.

Howdy Sir @janton a small place of peace away from the maddening crowds Lol
Blessings!

yes sir papilloncharity, like an oasis in the desert or a park in a bustling cityscape.
but most people can't take great photos of it like that.

What a cool fountain the birds love it the fish love it and I love it ';)

Thank you and we also love it JJ.
Blessings!

Yes, I am also always amazed at how resilient and willing nature is to WORK with humans and our contraptions! We should also do better in trying to work WITH nature to look after our planet, I think, in return!!!

The photos are so wonderful and I was having a bleak of a day but looking at this OASIS in the middle of the city made me happier and brighter :D Thank you for such a nice pick up of a post, @papilloncharity <3

Thank you my friend!
I think it should be a mandatory mindset change for architects and designers to include nature as opposed to the current opposing thoughts. Currently they design everything to protect it against the invasion of nature. So called "green" buildings is a good start.
Glad that I changed the color of your day from bleak my friend.
Blessings!

You manage to get some of the most incredible bird shots! Love that first one with the two overlapping beaks, but then also the one drinking from the fountain. I can imagine that is a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy some tea!

Thank you for the kind words my friend!
I love "Rooibos" tea, black as is.
It is a power packed tea native to South Africa and has many healing properties.
Peace and calm combined with nature is wonderful medicine for the soul!
Blessings!

wow first photographs is awesome. having good time...
That colorful fishes looks awesome in next photograph..

Thank you my friend.
The fish certainly brings life to the fountain and the birds love the water.
Blessings!

A really nice place. I love the shot of the bird drinking from the fountain. You are right that architects should consider more space for nature in their plans.

Thank you Sir Norbert and we are pushing this side for them to consider designing more "green" buildings!
Blessings!

Wagtail being bombed with spray most delightful shot today in my book, they love bobbing around going about their business. Enjoyed the tea by the sounds of it.

Hahaha, they have a semi-tame one here and his name is "Pietie" of all things. I posted a while ago about Pietie sitting on the sugar satchels on one of the restaurant tables near us.
Cheapest and neatest place in town Lady Joan.
Blessings!
