Stormy days ahead!
Two very wet Loeries waiting for fruit this morning!
It started raining overnight and this morning we awoke to a steady downpour. I am sure that I don't need to tell you how wet and windy the early winter rains can get, not even to mention the cold.
But birds need food to fortify them against the cold and we had to fill the feeders in a hurry. Now it's no pleasure to run out in raincoats on the wet grass first thing in the morning and the birds stayed at a distance as they couldn't recognize the strange spooks wrapped in black raincoats, running around at the feeders!
Join me to watch some morning shenanigans!
Even the wet little birds and doves sat abnormally high up in the tree as we were busy at the feeders!
Thankfully the rain clouds started slowly to disperse!
A Glossy Starling sat idly by watching us with the fruit for the bigger birds!
Meanwhile a gang of Sacred Ibises' came flying by!
Did I say it was windy? Watch how the wind plays with the Kite!
Before lunchtime the clouds were temporarily cleared, but we knew that due to the strong winds, it was only a matter of time before the clouds returned!
Bad and cold weather normally bring about strange fights between the animals due to a dire need for food and today was no exception. Tomorrow I will show you some arguments between a crow and a kite and I have even got a shot of a starling that tried to scare the kite!

Beautiful photos! We have been getting lots of rain storms, except ours are becoming warmer!
Coming into summer are we that side? I also love our summer storms, but I have a special affinity for the winter storms, as many pests are killed! A Rabbi friend's mother (86) swims in the family pool every morning at 6am, both in summer and winter! I have not gotten that far yet, but even with my pains in winter, it is always a special time! We are entering tornado season, so storms this time of year cause you to keep alert! I would love to have a pool. I love to swim, but it is not practical when it would be filled with snow for half the year!
