Historically, the port of Puntarenas has been the most important in the economic development of the country, being the main point of export of coffee to Europe. Nowadays it has become an important tourist attraction, where tourist cruises arrive from several places of the world, also, when there are no boats, people can enter to admire the landscape or to practice fishing.
