Wednesday Walk at the Seaside

That is indeed a palm tree along Vancouver's English Bay. We actually have quite a few but they don't ever grow much over 20 feet high and need to be wrapped in the winter to stay warm. The preferred covering is burlap. These beauts were captured just after sunset.

I also took the opportunity to look down. The gardeners of Vancouver's Park's Board alway do a wonderful job with landscape and flower design.

The sky is a shifting tapestry, especially at sunset. And that was my Wednesday Walk. Thanks for coming along.

Thank you for this very nice walk! Loved all the photos! It’s so funny the places you see palm trees!

Thank you, Violet:)

Thnaks for joining Wednesday Walk tip!

Thanks so much, Jay. And thank you for curating #wednesdaywalk:)

Interesting. I was seeing some short palm in South Carolina. They are not like the tall ones in Cali either.

Maybe new plants. These guys are like 20 or 30 years old ... to my knowledge. Could also be a dwarf variety that is a little more hardy. Did you ask the tree ... lol:):):)

I see familiar flowers there. Beautiful walk and beautiful words as well.

Thank you, Leeart:)

Great photos and haiku... I imagine those palm trees, and the ones over here, spend a lot of time wondering "who panted me here? ...and Why???"

They do survive however and seem to do pretty well.

They are the favored son of our west coast plants and so there is that:):):) Thank you, Keith:)

Wow. I had forgotten it Vancouver hat palm trees, so thank you for reminding me of that seemingly bizarre fact. One never thinks of Canada and tropical together. It just seems wrong. Thank you for another wonderful blog and I am only sorry that I don't make it over here often enough to comment on them.

Tip!

It is always a pleasure when you do, Denise:) Love seeing your smiling face. Yeppers ... we got palm trees on the West Coast ... not naturally of course:) I think we plant them just because we can:)

Hm, something went wrong with the comment, but I think I`ve managed to send the tip ;)

ENJOY !

You’ve shared pics of the palms in Vancouver before, but I still find the sight surprising in a place so far north from their native tropics. A lovely collection of pictures and another great haiku. The last picture of the sunset would also make a terrific SaturdayIndigo ColorChallenge submission.
