"Crying Girl on the Border"

Crying Girl on the Border, is the name of the year's photo selected at the World Press Photo ceremony in Amsterdam on Thursday. It was captured by photojournalist John Moore.

The image, taken on June 12 2018, shows a two-year-old Honduran girl crying while her mother is detained near the US-Mexico border in McAllen, Texas.
