Glimpses of Diwali - The Festival of Lights

in #photography5 years ago

A week away from Steemit seems like eternity. I have had to stay away0 for over a week now due to some personal reasons and also because the festival of lights, Diwali, is going on here in the Indian subcontinent.

It feels great to be back and what better way to start off than by sharing some photos that I shot of the various lights and earthen lamps that we lighted during Diwali.

Diwali is celebrated to honor the return of Lord Ram to his home along with his wife and brother after an exile of 14 years. Diwali symbolises the triumph of good over evil.

People celebrate Diwali by decorating and illuminating their homes, offices, temples, parks, streets or any other places with beautiful lights, lamps, flowers, colours and so on. I would like to share today some photos of the same.
