Buffalo Sculpin-1.jpg

This fish may look menacing but at only a few inches in length these Buffalo Sculpin are no threat to anything large than themselves.

Highly adaptive ambush predators these fish lie in wait for their next meal to swim by, then quickly snatching it before settling back onto the reef to await their next victim.

Finding these fish are quite common in the shallows of the Pacific Northwest. Once discovered getting good images can be quite easy because these fish will try and wait you out rather than turning tail and swimming away. Just be patient, and wait for the right moment.

Thanks for reading and have a great Thursday.
