Forgotten beauty | A challenge for you
I normally take my walk to work for granted. I think we all do...
We don't need change to appreciate beauty.
I have walked the same route to work for the last year and a half, and not once did I appreciate it as much as the day I took this picture. It might have been the rain on my umbrella, might have been the cool air, who knows. The route to work is a 10min walk, lucky me for not having to drive or use any kind of transportation. My legs are all I need and I really appreciate it that I do not need any extra hassles of getting to work and back. The only hassle would be the hot weather.
Challenge
We all have our daily routines and we are so used to it that we never stop to appreciate the things that we have seen thousands of time. Beauty is all around us but since we have been there and done that we start to take it for granted. So today I want to set out a challenge for all of you. Tomorrow or during the week, when on your daily routine, try and find something beautiful that you have forgotten about. Something you overlooked for the last year or two. Snap a picture of it and share it in the comments below.

One of the things I love about Steemit is how it makes me see things anew and notice everyday stuff that i would normally take for granted. 😊

I was boarded on a bus going home when I saw this view. I pass this road everyday and everything seems normal. For the past few days it has been raining here in PH and you can notice the gloomy skies on the photo but something that caught my attention was the golden skies. Despite the dark clouds there was this pleasant discoloration in the sky. It was soothing in the eyes.
In life, you may have gloomy days but always seek for the good in bad and you will find happiness. :)

Great shot from a bus!
I have been enjoying the smaller things for quite some time now. Sometimes life just makes you to start looking all what is all around you. So not really something I can think of that I’ve forgotten or over looked. Instead enjoy this pepper plant called Big Bertha I picked it up last week. It going to grow massive sweet peppers in a few months! For now it’s just a tiny little plant that need some love and care.
It has grown a bit bigger t since I took the photo. It is however raining and thundering like crazy. As such I'll just enjoy the view of the outside indoors where its nice and dry!
Every night I hear the birds singing away as the sun sets. Once in a while some bunny's show up while I'm outside working on things. The butterfly's have been flapping there wings in the silent guest of wind. Even the blasted spiders and snakes seem to be enjoying the weather!

When I go home, I always see these shipyard cranes ahead, above the river surface or in the street perspective. They remind me about the sea and distant travel, even if the sea itself is not visible. They have become for me a familiar part of the landscape. But sometimes I look at them as if I see them for the first time. I made several shots from different points, the rest are in the post on my page.
Love the black and white on this one! We all want to go somewhere, travel more, yet we have to stick it out and reminisce about all our previous trips. Lovely shot!

Read your post and it makes 100% sense what you are saying, we are surrounded by so much nature and beauty, but with our busy lives why on earth would we walk anywhere else but on the sidewalk? We need to change that attitude. Glad you are taking the best route on your way to grocery shopping! =)

Beauty around us. Everyone has their own beauty. For some, beauty is nature, for others it is masterpieces of architecture and painting. We are in our crazy rhythm of life sometimes really stopped to notice and appreciate the beauty. I often go this route and it seems so normal and familiar that I just walk on these small bridges without even looking at what surrounds me. It seems to me that every detail is familiar to me . But yesterday, I specifically went slowly to once again look at these channels, sailing boats, forged railings. I found this a breath of breeze, felt the freshness of a gentle summer wind. I began to think that this is the most beautiful place and it became even more expensive to my heart. @scrooger Thank you for this idea to look around again .

You have a wonderful way to work every day. I was born in monsoon country... I miss it here. Texas rains are different.
I still need to experience some real monsoon weather, sounds kind of dangerous and exciting at the same time. =)
