A Wonderful Meal in Sydney

in #photography6 years ago

Food is something I hold pretty close to heart when it’s up for discussion. Travelling around has given me the opportunity to broaden my taste buds and explore interesting cuisine. While out in Sydney I decided that it was time to recharge after a day of touring. What better way to do this than an evening of elegant dining.

Oyster, oysters and more oysters. Words cannot describe how much I have come to enjoy fresh oysters. These were fresh and every bite I took was as if one was taking a dip in the ocean. They were kept fresh and perfectly chilled. This delicacy is high in a number of healthy nutrients that can leave you feeling reenergised. With plenty of Zinc, Calcium, Iron and other Vitamins, it has been considered a natural aphrodisiac.

Continuing the theme of seafood and everything ocean, the grilled and diced octopus was an absolute treat. The texture had consistency throughout with a light citrus sauce that accompanied the dish perfectly. I went a little further and decided to squeeze some extra lime for a real kick. Octopus is also packed with healthy nutrients including Selenium which is a trace mineral that promotes metabolism. There is also high iron content here too which is great for cell growth, especially in women who sometimes need a little more.

This light salad with added fruit was a refreshing medley. The mint really added to the cool fragrance of the dish. I loved the contrasting colours used here and the healthy ingredient choices made it perfect for the evening meal. Where normally dressing is in abundance, just the right amount of moisture was kept to create a well-balanced and attractive piece.

Shellfish is one of the pleasures I adore when eating seafood. The langoustine served were grilled with hints of garlic. With a spray of lemon juice, this was one of the best servings I had eaten in a while. The shells had been split just right and came apart from their casing effortlessly. A pleasant and clean helping.

If you’ve ever tried surf and turf, you will appreciate the meaty side of things in a seafood meal. The filet served here had just the right amount of texture throughout. Plated with a mixed pepper corn sauce, every bite felt a treat. The slightly caramelised layer gave a salty contrast against the soft and meaty centre.

This hors d'oeuvre like dish was light and packed a hint of fruitiness. The crème used here tasted fluffy and blended well with its sponge like base.

Sweetness isn’t always my favoured choice but this crumble like golden slices were a treat. This was definitely a rich helping in a small package as every bite felt extravagate.

To end the meal, a light mousse accompanied with toasted sugar and strawberries. The presentation was fabulous and the light chocolate drizzle gave real character. I left most satisfied with a glowing grin on my face.

All those dishes look great, very well presented. Just looking at them causes them to eat them. I also love seafood. You have had a great privilege of being able to eat such delicious food. Bon Appetite!
