Wild Mushrooms in Israel
Hey everyone,
During the winter, one of my most favorite things to do (and eat! )is picking mushrooms!
I can only identify for sure 4 kinds, and never pick anything i'm unsure of.
The first is my new favorite - The Saffron milk cap mushroom:
Next, is a really nice looking PURPLE Mushroom named Lepista nuda, which is also very tasty:
From these two I made heavenly rice, along with garlic, onion, and lots of spices and herbs!
Fresh, Wild mushrooms are the best, but remember - NEVER eat a mushroom you can't recognize for sure, a mistake here can be FATAL.
Some mushrooms are good for eating only after boiling them and dumping the water, make sure you know what you're doing!
