Molvinsky garden

A few days ago, I showed a walk in the Ekaterinhof Park and told about Molvinsky Bridge. If you go a little further, past a complex of buildings built for workers of the Ekaterinburgof cotton-cloth manufactory, you can get to a pond of perfectly round shape. This is Molvinsky pond, and the area around this pond is called Molvinsky garden. In Russian, these names sound very beautiful, they contain toponym "talk", "conversation". But the origin of these names is much simpler: at this place at the end of the 18th century was located the mansion of the sugar manufacturer and the merchant Ya.N. Molvo. The round pond seems to be a historic landmark, but it was dug after the revolution, in the 1920s.
