heading to the ocean for some food

penguins are funny creatures and typically will use a few areas where they will enter and exit the water, which at times can cause a slight 'traffic jam' of adorable animals. These Adelie penguins were crowded around one of these entry points deciding whether or not to jump in, as a few minutes earlier I did spot a leopard seal stalking that area looking for its lunch. It seem to be a waiting point to see whether or not one or two penguins would jump in and let the rest of them know if it was safe or not to go foraging for food.

It is a tough life down here in the Southern Ocean when you are a penguin and also when you are apparently very tasty to large marine mammals, such as, leopard seals & Giant petrels.
