Unternberg Alm - Rainy Trip
Beautiful Weekend
I have to say celebrating birthday without party, beer, cake and the usual stuff is refreshing. Even more refreshing is to walk up mountains or hills with younger people. The last days been hard for my old body but refreshing too. As you might have seen we spent a day at Rauschberg already plus another half day trip which I will cover soon.
Unternberg in Rain
Today we "climbed" the Unternberg - another small hill near Ruhpolding with an elevation of 1,425 m. We decided to use the chairlift / cable car (Sesselbahn in German) to reduce time as we planned to hit a swim paradise later. We made the mistake to underestimate changing weather in such alpine regions and got surprised sitting on the chairlift by constant heavy rain showers. Anyway - we survived and did drink a hot cup of chocolate upstairs in the Unternberg Alm. Nicely renovated tradition made in Bavaria up there. I only read about this kinds of places in the Alps. The Alps right? I looked up the wooden Alp horns and played you tube for my husband. Unbelieveable sound.
