Photo: When you want to go for a walk, but your fur is too thin
I have never owned a dog that needed to be clothed to be outside in barely freezing degrees before, but the whippet is definitely one of the breeds that need this. While I do of course put on some clothes for the other dogs when it's -20°C, Wilma will need this even when it's lingering around 0°C. She looks very cute with two layers of clothes tough.
I haven't been able to spend much time on Steem this weekend, but I'm looking forward to working on my backlog of comments and posts that need to be checked out and answered. I have managed to free up my schedule for December a bit, so hopefully I will find the time to write and publish a few science posts as well.
I hope everyone is having a great December so far, and have gotten into the Christmas spirit already (or at least for those of us who Celebrate that tradition).

Just recently she was a little, and now looks great in this clothes.
Yep, she has grown a lot of the past 6 months! I think she is about her full body size now tough, but we'll see if she grows a bit more or not :)

Wilma looks like a dog model! :) Very cute :) Does she like the clothes? I thought dogs find these "accessories" uncomfortable but she really seems to be just fine with it...
Hehe, thanks. Sighthounds are known to fixate on (potentially) moving objects far away, and it's during this fixation that they are easy to photograph. Other than that they are moving around constantly, so it's a lot more difficult to get good shots of her than any of the other dogs I have owned.
She has gotten pretty comfortable with her clothing at this point, but she hated it the first few times. But I have been working on getting her used to wearing it, and she gradually began to accept it. At this point she does not seem to care about it at all.

How cute! I've never seen "pyjamas" like that for dogs before. We have a greyhound and his fur is very thin too, but luckily our winters really don't get too cold in Ireland, and he spends most of the time indoors by the fire anyway!
These pajamas are pretty popular for sighthounds here where it's cold in the winter, and I often see both whippets, grethounds, and italian greyhounds with these.
Hehe, I can totally see why he prefers the fireplace. My whippet seem to love sleeping right next to even, even tough it's scorching hot to lie there!
