7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday

If you haven't already heard about @czechglobalhosts photo challenge -
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge.
Well today's is - Wednesday - African photos.

Each day there is a different continent and all you have to do is comment on his post with a photo that you have taken with 30 - 50 words describing your photo.

Here is my photo for today's African competition.

Pillars at the Karnak temple - Luxor, Egypt.
This temple in Luxor is amazing! There is around 134 of these pillars that have hieroglyphs carved into them. They say that they built these pillars by placing the first piece into place then surrounding it with sand to move the second piece into place on top and so on, until they built the pillar up to 70 feet high. Then carving the pillars on the way down while removing the sand.
