Ducks in the snow / Утки на снегу

Another report about the recent trip. Because of the strange planning of the excursion, we spent the brightest time of the short winter day on the cheese farm, tasting the cheeses and dining. And in Torzhok, for the sake of which I got out on this excursion, arrived at dusk and very few saw this cute ancient city.	Ещё один репортаж из недавней поездки. Из-за странной планировки экскурсии самое светлое время короткого зимнего дня мы провели на сырной ферме, дегустируя сыры и обедая. А в Торжок, ради которого я и выбралась на эту экскурсию прибыли уже в сумерках и очень мало увидели этот симпатичный древний город.
For 15 minutes we stopped at the square near the magistrate. And then, walking towards the bridge, we saw a large flock of ducks.	На 15 минут мы остановились на площади около магистрата. И тут, направившись к мосту, увидели большую стаю уток.

They are located on the snow in front of the monument to the architect Lvov. Apparently, all the tourists who arrived in Torzhok, are brought to this square.

Они расположились на снегу перед памятником архитектору Львову. Видимо, всех туристов, прибывших в Торжок, привозят на эту площадь.

Ducks took a strategic position and, seeing the new tourists, they waited for a treat, not without reason. Look how they catch pieces of bread. How volleyball team.

Утки заняли стратегическую позицию и, завидев новых туристов, не без оснований ждали угощения. Вон как дружно ловят кусочки булок. Чисто волейбольная команда.

Among the many ordinary mallards stood a duck with a white belly.

Here is the high bank of the river Tvertsa. When you go to the monument, the river is not immediately visible and it is very strange to see so many ducks just in the snow in the middle of the city.

Здесь высокий берег реки Тверца. Когда идёшь к памятнику, не сразу видно реку и очень странно видеть так много уток просто на снегу посреди города.

Ducks occupied the slopes of the shore too.

Утки заняли и склоны берега.

And, of course, ducks swam on the unfrozen part of the river. But, of course, not just like that. The goal of the birds is the same.

И, конечно, плавали по незамерзшей части речки. Но тоже не просто так. Цель у птиц всё та же.

Tourists moved away from the monument. And on the other side, people strolling along the embankment began to feed the birds. And now a pack has gathered there.

Туристы отошли от памятника. А на другом берегу люди, прогуливающиеся по набережной, стали подкармливать птиц. И теперь уже там собралась стая.

Our 15 minutes are over, we go to the bus. And the ducks left alone mostly turned to the river and observe what is happening there.

Наши 15 минут закончились, мы идём к автобусу. А утки, оставшиеся одни, в большинстве развернулись к реке и наблюдают, что происходит там.
