@streetsyle did this post proposing the idea of Steem Power day worth checking out but in short he says
lets agree to make a STEEM POWER DAY -
On this day no one sells and no one sends Steem to any exchanges. On this day no one powers down and if you are already powering down, then Stop it for that one day and then start powering down the next day... those who can or are willing too, Power Up on the Designated Day.
Can We Make A Difference, are Steemians Powerful enough to make an impact on the Steem Price?

I think its a great idea and supporting this, but now back to my regular post style with some photos, and then I thought what I could share that fits with a power day.
And all I could come up with from my photo archives were these shots of one of the Chandeliers in Grand Central, Starting with the whole chandilier.

Great initiative, I'll be joining for sure! I've powered down a bit in the past, but always replaced it. I'll keep this date in my calendar, so I don't send any Steem to an exchange by accident :P

Love the concept of Steem Power day! I hope we can make a difference in the steem price :) Beautiful, beautiful chandelier @tattoodjay. How old do you think they are? They just aren't making chandeliers with that detail today.
I did try and look up how old they are, but i didnt have any luck finding out, I did find there is over 4000 Light bulbs across all of them LOL
Oops and I forgot to say I to love the idea of Steem Power Day, if it can help to give some attention to Steem on other social Media platforms as well on that day it could be a good thing for Steem
Nice shots. The only time I send Steem to exchanges is when I am powering up. so I don't feel to bad about all of this. It seems like a really great idea, I don't think you will be able to get the people on board that count on STEEM for a living though...
Thanks and I am the same I seldom if ever send to exchanges and focus on powering up, and yes I agree those that rely on STeem for a living naturally will not get on board, but maybe for the one day they willl but for those of us who do not truly on it, it would be if nothing else a gesture and if many share about it on other social media platforms it may bring some attention to Steem

Isnt it so cool, I remember reading that some of the chandeliers in GCT weight around 2500 LBS they are huge and I still find myself fascinated by them after passing them so much
I wonder how long they've been there, that is heavy!

What if I powering up today what happen to my account

You can power up anytime you like of course
But
I do not understand what 'us powering up or down' has to do
With the price of steem.
I tried powering down (in fact I think I am still doing it now)
But I've never ever seen any change in my bank account
Wallet/USD/SBD etc... just the other day I finally, after
ALL THESE years with first tsu and now Steemit,
Converted my earnings to REAL HARD USD.
Made me so proud to be able to say to
My peeps in FB that I got paid for
Doing what I do here for free.
So if you can, would you
Explain to me how we
affect the price of
Steem this way?

To be honest I think its more showing a sign of solidarity with Steem, I do not think it will make a change to the price of steem on that day, but if enough people get on board and share the fact on the day on other social media platforms it could well gain some visibility for Steem and that would help the platform in the long run
