My parents built this restaurant in a dying small town Oro Grande, CA
There was nothing but a liquor store in 2011. The cities annual budget is $5000.
Most of the other businesses, aside from the Portland Cement Company, have shutdown as far back as the 1970's.
It was not the best place to be in modern America.
After they built the place, slowly but surely change happened.
Today there are 20 other stores and shops, and the restaurant is one of the most popular in the high desert.
Lots of people say its the greatest pizza they have ever had! :D
People stop by when they are traveling through route 66.
Ive met people from all over the world that stop by for a slice.
Germany, Brazil, France, Italy, even South Africa.
The city really has changed. There is a new positive light that shines each day.
And that is because they took the steps to hopefully changing the area for the better.
There is even a 2 day event every year called Oro Grande days, where hundreds of people come to celebrate the town.
Night and day difference.
You can be the positive change if you just put forth the effort.
