A letter to Plagiarists everywhere, how stupid do you think we are??

I must spend a chunk of an hour on steemcleaners discord every day checking to see if anyone needs help on the platform. I am still amazed to see when people come on the platform, saying something along the lines of "hey my post has been flagged but it's my work."

Yet the work does not belong to them at all, there is so much proof to support it, sadly then these people just well fade away instead of learning what to do.

SoI have decided to write a letter to all plagiarists.

Dear Plagiarist,

You might not yet realise that is what you are being called, but you are. You are being called a plagiarist because you have deliberately stolen work from someone and passed it off as your own on the platform.

You doubt your own ability to create your own original content, because you think that it is worthless and that by passing off someone else's work as your own, you will earn more rewards as a result of it. Or it could be the fact you are just too lazy to create your own work, and it would be much easier just to take someone else's work and pass it off as your own.

Well it does not work like that... see the @steemcleaners are always on the lookout for work that has been plagiarised. They do this because from an ethical point of view, they are protecting the likes of me and many other people on the platform. Protecting us sot that our own original content, is not being used and passed off as someone else's

Let me put this a bit plainer, when you plagiarise you are stealing. You're a thief, its theft plain and simple. You are taking money from the pocket of the original creator. Now that could be a mother or a father, with children, you are taking money from them to feed their family. Do you have children? How would you feel if that was someone taking money from you to feed the mouths of your children, or to pay your mortgage, or to pay your bills.

Its not nice isn't it!!

The thing being dear plagiariser, did you know that plagiarism is not tolerated on the web let alone just here on steemit. There are plenty of references out there about plagiarism you just have to look for them, let me give you a good head start. Wikipedia tends to be a very helpful resource, you may find this article of interest.

Check this out...Plagiarism there are plenty of references and interesting information, that will take you a couple of hours to study before you think of stealing your next works to publish only to be flagged again.

Did you know that the likes of me report you to steemcleaners.

And not just me, there are plenty of people on this platform who disagree with plagiarists, so you need to think long and hard when you put your next (mona lisa) article up passing it off as your own, because you don't know who is reading it.

Steemcleaners are not stupid when you pass work off as your own and it's not, them and plenty of other people have ways and means of finding out if work belongs to you or not. If it genuinely does belong to you and you can prove it, then you have nothing to fear. But for the most part that can't, why even try in the first place to say its yours? I don't understand, how stupid do you think we are??

If you are flagged what should you do.

Unless you have 100% proof that the work you have written belongs to you, and you are referencing it from a website or other blog you own and can prove it then that is ok it can be corrected.

But for the most part, if you receive a notice off them, don't come on discord saying that its your work. Because they will happily show you the evidence to suggest that it isn't. You know what when that happens its so funny watching you slink off into the abyss, never to be heard from again.

It does not need to be like that, you are only damaging your own reputation on the platform, you are only being made to look like a fool. There is another way...start to produce original content, regardless of what it is make it yours and no one else's. Be a true contributor to the platform, and you will receive rewards.

Stop thinking that what you post might earn you 100's of SBD there is a higher chance it won't than what it will. The content you copy makes more money for a reason, the author has done their job, a lot longer than you!!

One final note

If you do happen to receive such a comment and you come in discord, if you are truly not sure what to do find me. I can help to give you all the tools you need to start to produce good content, I can look at a plagiarised post and show you how to make that post your own. But know this, there is no easy way on steemit, don't for one second think that its ok to do what you have been doing.

Some time sooner or later you will be caught, and you will be watched, so to make it a lot easier for the platform just don't do it at all. I hope that this letter has some what give you food for thought plagiariser, and that you look to change your ways. So that even I can stop calling you plagiariser, because I would rather call you friend.

Here to help always.

I've noticed people don't know how to credit images properly. For example "Pixabay". That is just the website. It's not crediting the artist's name nor to their profile page on Pixabay specifically. While that's not plagarism, it's not correctly citing to direct sources to content creators. Same with Youtube videos/links.

This might be of some help, they are crediting images properly fro pixabay this is on their own site.
