Goddamn Plastic Everywhere
No need to explain this!!!
Plastic that we use and throw away so casually can cause huge troubles for aquatic life.
I found this one stuck in a plastic bag along the lake side. He was trying pretty desperately. I sure did help him out.
It is estimated that each year approx. 10–20 million tons of plastic finds its way to the ocean by ocean dumping and runoff. As per a conservative study 5.25 trillion plastic particles weighing around 268,940 tons are currently floating in the oceans.
It takes plastic hundreds of years to degrade fully and when it does it releases toxic chemicals. During its ocean journey, plastic finds its way to the stomachs of marine animals. Where it causes them substantial damage.

On microscopic levels, plastics beads absorb persistent organic pollutants (POPs) from the sea water and when intok by marine animals these pollutants make their way to the whole food chain, thereby negatively affecting the entire ecosystem.

So the next time you throw away a plastic bag or bottle, just think about where it might end about and what it may cause.

plastic has really gotten out of control. Unfortunately I don't see that changing that soon. 90% of the plastic in the ocean comes from Asia and that won't change. Still everyone can do a little to make a change!
It's not about plastic. It's all about how to use it responsibly.
