What is the world turning into like this?
Every man busy tending their own field
Most people shove in your face the power they wield
They have the power to protect but leave you without a shield
If you ask them they will say your strength they are trying to build
Every man turning into their own greed
What kind of generation are we trying to breed?
Have we forgotten everything we do is an act of a seed?
It will germinate and it is forced upon us as our own creed
Every man deep from the soul scream to be freed
Who will answer the call? We all need to take heed
This isn’t the world we bargained for
But we found ourselves in this state
No, oh...no no no, we brought ourselves into this state
Every man guarding jealousy on his own plate
Actions like this point to one direction to seal a man’s fate
We have a mandate to make another better, let’s make it a date
I desire a world where bread is not stone
Where meatloaf is what it is and not a clone
Every man genuinely caring for their neighbours
With every act of kindness and joy filling the air
It doesn’t matter the colour of your skin or your hair
We know we are in this world together and not just in a pair
It is all in our own hands to affect our change
What has never been enough can be more than enough
Love and genuine care is enough to make it all better
We need to stop talking and start acting
Be the change you want to see in your world
And it all starts with you and me.
