The Market Man- Collaborative Poetry- The U.S.S. MinnowPROSE!

Sealed tight in mystic bottles.
Perched on shelves riddled with dust.
Mana, not from heaven fallen,
Colored of gold fleck and hints of rust.

Buy one, buy all!
Comes the cries from market man.
Slinging wares and trinkets stolen.
Gold pieces grease his hand.

Pieces cursed and rescued
From adventurers slain by night,
Crept into their meager tents
Reading them their rights.

By rights, of course.
I mean they all be wrongs.
Done onto those that slayed,
Fearsome foes and sickly creatures .
To assure that they were paid.

Robbed and slit about the throat
Their wares were brought to town
With poor prices paid for them
Their origins now unrenowned.

The market man eats for twenty
While the rest slowly starve.
Greed and gluttony, such a sully
A whole pig left to carve.

Those that watch him sell his wares
So ill-gotten gained..
Crept to his door that night
And left him cold and slain.

Loaded down with gems and swords
With jewels and strange icons
Sacks of coins and amulets
In the morn they will pawn.

As for the greedy market man,
They tossed him two gold coins.
One to compensate for the murder..
The other, the kick to his loins.
