Review of my favorite poetry 'The Pulley'
Having a glass of blessings standing by,
“Let us,” said he, “pour on him all we can.
Let the world’s riches, which dispersèd lie,
Contract into a span.”

So strength first made a way;
Then beauty flowed, then wisdom, honour, pleasure.
When almost all was out, God made a stay,
Perceiving that, alone of all his treasure,
Rest in the bottom lay.
“For if I should,” said he,
“Bestow this jewel also on my creature,
He would adore my gifts instead of me,
And rest in Nature, not the God of Nature;
So both should losers be.
“Yet let him keep the rest,
But keep them with repining restlessness;
Let him be rich and weary, that at least,
If goodness lead him not, yet weariness
May toss him to my breast.”

Analysis
The poem comprises four stanzas with five lines each, making the total number of 20 lines with regular rhyming scheme of ababa all through the stanzas.
The poem is about the creation of the man, in which God endowed all He has for man. With the only thing that He requires from us which is unceasing worship. He doesn't need our money nor food but the only thing He wants from us is praise for all He has done for us. The poet emphasized that if goodness lead us not, that is, the good thing that has given unto us like wealth, knowledge and wisdom to make things happen on earth doesn't lead us to Him then, weariness will toss us to His breast. Meaning that if man failed to praise Him for the goodness, problem and adversity will make man to worship him more.
