Rubbertree

I.

Rubber
Given enough age
Goes brittle
And returns to dust.

White stress lines form fractures,
And the elasticity snaps
Bands putting purple imprints on wrist

(once they held a bunch of broccoli,
makeshift family in a plastic crate.)

Now I gaze upon the burst ring knowing
The uselessness
Of hands scrabbled across fields of trunks
To collect the sticky resin.

II.

Wood cut sterile and laid upon a lathe
Speaks through ghost roots and sawdust.

Speech that turns transparent under work-lights,
A song that sings unheard beneath the quiet eaves.

Sort:

A very sensitive poem that speaks of marks in the soul that sink into disillusionment due to the infertility of the fertilized land.
The voice proclaims that despite so much attempt to mold their work, nothing changes and only observes clumsy attempts that do not meet their expectations. The essence is not in sight, freshness is not present, as it says. However, the abrupt way it ends, reflects a small hope that does not die.
It is the vision of a hopeless God, a God unhappy with the creatures he has created and assumes his fiasco from his own failure, because he himself does not get the light... But, faced with so much frustration, rubber is an option.

Once again I see this is another read between the lines poem. @adeyemidrey broke it down line by line but missed the analogy.

Steemit, my computer, my back, my poetry competition , etc...
Given enough age
Goes brittle
And returns to dust.

I now have white hair and stress
If a rubber tree's elasticity snaps then so can I.
Writer's block is putting purple imprints on wrist maybe I will get carpel tunnel syndrome if I keep typing.

I wonder about The uselessness
Of hands scrabbled across (blockchain tokens) fields of trunks
To collect the sticky resin.

Wood cut sterile and laid upon a lathe
Speaks through ghost roots and sawdust.

Speech that turns transparent under work-lights,
A song that sings unheard beneath the quiet eaves

Once one has lost her flexibility, soon one becomes obsolete and then decayed. Best to remain grounded and connected and infinitely flexible:)

Fabulous write, Daniel:)

Rubber tree has a lot of usefulness from the because the milky latex extracted from the tree which is the primary source of natural rubber.

Rubber
Given enough age
Goes brittle
And returns to dust.

What I can deduce here is that, rubber is inflexible and it is liable to break easily as you have portray above which make it return to dust in a matter of time.

once they held a bunch of broccoli,
makeshift family in a plastic crate.)

Here you are stressing the importance and the long process of converting rubber into economy usage images (17).jpeg

Wood cut sterile and laid upon a lathe
Speaks through ghost roots and sawdust.

The imagery of auditory you used here is well convey the message well.

I so much like the line of the poem as you stood to appreciate nature through you piece.

The rubber trees cry in silence for the support of us. We are insensitive to his suffering.

This one I really like ,I totally get it.

I love your use of words. I'm just amazed on how you are able to write a poetry using rubber😊😄. Beautiful.
