I’ve heard it before, turn your back and ignore me, just to come back and I see more poor me.

I also have a brutally honest mirror. We used to be friends but it's really let me down lately. I find that ignoring it works well.
As with all reflections, they are merely a display of the past (speed of light and all that), so what we see in the mirror is how we appeared a split second ago.
