Of sunset clouds,
Darken my cares
Deepen my doubts.
The twilight sky
A desert of stars,
Golden lanterns
None of them ours.
When night falls
You descend the stairs,
In gathering gloom
I glimpse you there;
Face candle lit
Hair black as night,
Skin shimmering
In failing light.
Each night I surrender
And follow your ghost,
Afraid to refuse you—
Afraid to approach.
