A PLACE OF SANCTUARY (An Original Poetry)

Caved in, enclosed in
from the seeking eyes of the sunset
under the earth's dome
or afloat the ripples of the nile?
like a tide ebbing into the blue
we're the egg's offsprings
hiding in the carapace
unable to hatch into this wicked world
we seek asylum within
for the nights are dreary and taunting
Our tombs is a sanctuary,
a refuge where the marathon finishes
the dust is our ancestors
with no mouth to speak
or nostrils to smell
the world is full of hiding places
but only the grave is the true home
foxes to their holes
cuckoo birds to their nests
but life is a journey beyond this smiles
Like delirious rats dolorous
plant cells with no flagella
our blindness is bright as daylight
seeking succour in crumbling places
salvation is the way backwards
but sorrow is miles ahead
living in our confusion, perplexed
the world is bereft of a sanctuary place
hidden away from maleficent ones
We're compromised
like the circle of the termite's sphere
desperate to find shelter
life is a door that opens death
and death is a door that opens immortality
but yet we choose life's terrestriality
we're fishes hidding from the trawls
and the strawberries,
hiding behind the hook
but even when the storm is come
there won't be refuge any more.
