A prayer in bad weather
Though knees are too old to endure the ache of supplication
And invocation is useless from behind the wheel
May the tires not skid as I pull into the favorite parking space
May grace and good intentions rise from a mouth gripped with grief
May the raindrops not land as cold as numbers
On shoulders already ruined by rime

It's always interesting to me when I find poetry that doesn't rhyme- which is something that I've oft believed poetry to require. It's rare that something not written in verse speaks to me, but for whatever reason this one did. Thank you for sharing it.
