This short poem conveys a universal longing. The reader is immediately placed into a scene of grand proportions to immediately share in this moment. It felt like a familiar experience and - perhaps because of - the brevity and simplicity of the lines, and the scale of the scene; the emotion of the speaker is powerfully conveyed.

Shining
Stars above
I await for you ..

This monologue appears to be filled with private references, yet they are described with vivid detail. The mood is erratic and unsettling, the intense emotions rise to the euphoric in the distant childhood recollections, then fade to despair, yearning and doubt over proximal grief. The emotions are shared with abandon, leaving the reader feeling as though a familiar bond has been established with the speaker.

I wish I were still alive
What I learned intuition
I am tired of pale smiles

Eight, neatly-metered stanzas make up this peculiar poem about a fear of flies. To describe any more would risk subtracting from the power of the punch from the way the narrative flows to a conclusion in this poem. The quotation is from the second stanza,

I looked him in the eyes
And told him that what I feared most
Were little harmless flies
