NIGHT
The clouds are getting dark
The sun is slowly fading away
The moon is coming up beautifully
The day is getting dark.
The night is near
And a beauty to behold
The beauty that weakens our soul and agility
The beauty that forces us to close our eyelids and sleep.
The night is a pregnant beauty
No one knows what it will bear
Its fruit might be a terror or blessing
Its fruit will smite or bless us.
I pray that the terror of the night do not strike us
I pray that the fruit of the night shall be a blessing and not a curse unto us
I pray that the night shall not swallow us
I pray that the night shall give us the grace to see the day.
