The Flight Is Over (Photo-Poetry)
Her soul had wondered,
Travelled far and wide.
On beautiful flowers she lay to rest
With aromas and flavors drunk she got.
Colors.
The colors she had seen could fill a palette
Even the most skillful artist would never manage to mix.
And her wings...
Those wings had taken her everywhere
And gave her her freedom,
The one she desired ever since she was born
And crawled on the ground.
She yearned for that freedom.
She got it.
She won it.
And now her flight is over...
I found a dead butterfly on the flowers in our garden the other day. It was a sad sight, but somehow I was drawn to take its picture. I could tell whether the butterfly was caught by another insect and left on the leaf after the "meal" was over or it just happened to reach the end of its life's journey there.
Aaah, life is so short, but so long at the same time. It feels like an eternity when you look back on your past, but somehow this eternity is condensed within seconds of thoughts.
Strange creatures we are, aren't we?
