High Rise - Original Poetry
Pushing one rung higher every day.
Using my fellows to grease the gears.
They didn't matter, just the pay.
We learned to sell all the angles.
Didn't matter which side shook on the sordid deal.
And then during darkest of night.
Guess which inventory we steal!!
I did it all without remorse.
Always held true, no matter the course.
Brought the firm nothing but power.
Now I'm invited into our highest tower.
Raked our entrails across the board.
Heedless suits sat silent.
No faces turned towards me,
I took my pitch and ran...
We didn't make it far.
