Sharp Tongues

Village parrots
laughing like harlots
gazes smeared on your falls
they'd rather see you crawl
than celebrate your tall.

Gossip troupes
gathered in groups
exchanging bile in scoops
such bitterness troops
and arrogant prudes.

Assumptions fly
as they secretly spy
pretending not to ply
they review all you buy
unseemly sly.

Stay away
papa used to say
their words can sway
while their negativity slays
nothing they do ever pays.

Zero graze
your tongue's craze
to curb unnecessary faze
pointed at someone else's daze
as we are all in a maze.
