#28 SIN CHRONICLES | AT ONE TIME OR THE OTHER: A POEM

It is a truth, one of many,
That we are all broken
At one time or the other,
Without rhyme or reason.
We are, at one time or the other,
Crushed, ground to dust,
Painted into the darkest of corners
And left to forget, to die, to rot.

It is also a truth, one of many,
That we rise, sometimes,
From the grave, a carcass
Scavenged by hope to life,
Draw breath, take a single step,
Stumble, crawl, yes, move forward,
Ever forward to a better place,
Sometimes.

We have fallen before
And perchance, we will fall again.
In between each fall though,
You shall witness us rise
Like dough in a oven.
You shall witness us perchance become
Colossal, mighty, powerful,
Before we fall.

Do not fear for it is a truth.
We will rise from this rubbish heap.
We will fathom the depths of our ruin
And prise our broken selves, sometimes,
From the darkest corners of rot.
We will perchance become something
More and you will see the truth
That rests here unhinged,
At one time or the other.

I am very tired. I think I will lie down for a little while. Just need to rest a little, close my eyes and sleep without dreaming. Just a snooze. I hope you understand?
