Limerick Series: The Mysterious Woods (Complete)

Heya, fellow steemians and otakus! It's me again, @yuki-nee for my new Limerick Series, titled: The Mysterious Woods. In the last installment, Alex followed the flash of light only to find out that the light was being emitted by frog! What's more shocking was that the frog could talk! Amazing desu~

Note:

Unlike my previous series, "Kuro's Epic Adventure", this series will be a lot shorter. Consisting of only 12 to 15 parts that will be composed of at least 3 parts a day. With this setup, the series will be completed in matter of days, instead of weeks!

Here is what to expect:

Every time I finished an installment, that installment would then be included in the next article. This is so that the readers would not need to backtrack to the previous post. Thus avoiding the lost of immersion when reading the story. It also means that my post will become longer as time goes on. At the end, this article will end up with a thousand word or more!

The Plot

 

The story is about an adventurous boy named Alex who got lost a mysterious woods near his village. Inside the woods he encountered all sort of strange beings...

Title: The Mysterious Woods

Part (1)

 

• Once there was an adventurous boy

• He lived in a small village named Doye

• His parents named him Alex

• Has a mother called Salyx

• And a woodcutter father named Roy

Part (2)

 

• One day Alex got lost in the woods

• Went too far looking for anthropods

• Saw a rabbit with one horn

• Like that of a unicorn

• Fogs then covers the mysterious woods

Part (3)

 

• Alex went after the rabbit with horn

• Then saw several fluff of shorn

• He then heard a laugh

• Then there was a flap

• There are faces on those fluff of shorn!

Part (4)

 

• Alex was terrified and screamed a "wah!"

• The shorns merely laugh with "ha! ha! ha!"

• Then turn around like a cog

• And vanish into the fog

• Leaving Alex with a confuse "huh?"

Part (5)

• Alex can't help but scatch his head

• Not knowing what is ahead

• He let out a sigh

• Then took out a piece of pie

• Eat voraciously without heed

 

Part (6)

• Alex stood after eating his food

• And started scanning the woods

• He saw a flash of light

• Eyes brightened with delight

• Walked away from where he stood

Part (7)

 

• Alex chases after the light

• Those distant flashes of white

• As he exits the fog

• He saw a magical frog!

• A strange frog that shines so bright!

Part (8)

 

• Alex stare at the frog intently

• Wondering why it shines so brightly

• The frog looked at the boy

• It then shouts "ahoy!"

• Shocked, Alex could only look blankly...

Part (9)

 

• "It spoke!" Alex exclaimed loudly

• "But of course!" the frog said proudly

• Gesturing the boy to sit

• Alex sit in a fit

• The frog then spoke to the boy calmly

Part (10)

 

• The frog told him some secret of the woods

• To finds the way he need some goods!

• One is a mystic compass

• Two is a leaf of pass

• Once he get both he'll be out of the woods!

Part (11)

 

• Alex quickly spring into action

• The frog only smiled in reaction

• Looked and found the goods

• But was hindered by the toads

• Who are not from a friendly faction

Part (12)

 

• Alex tricked the unfriendly toads

• Then quickly run with the goods

• He ran without stop

• Then burst to a happy laugh

• He was finally out of the woods!

The story so far...

Once there was an adventurous boy named Alex who lived in a small village named Doye. He has a mother called Salyx and a woodcutter father named Roy.

One day, Alex got lost on the woods. He lost count of time while searching for insects and other anthropods. While looking for the way home, Alex saw a rabbit with a horn! Surprised and curious, he went after the rabbit not noticing the fog that starts to spread and cover the mysterious woods.

While chasing after the horned rabbit, he saw several fluff of shorn. As he was about to pick a fluff of shorn, he heard laughter and flapping. Suddenly, those fluff of shorn moved and turned around, startling Alex! But what amazed him more is that all of them have faces!

Alex can't help but scream in fright! Surprisingly, the weird shorns with faces on them simply laugh at him. And then turn around and vanish into the fog, leaving a very confuse Alex.

Alex stare dumbly at the fog where those weird shorns disappeared to. Scratching his head, he sat down and took out a piece of pie from his sack. He then eat it voraciously, not caring if there's danger around him.

After eating his fill, Alex stood up and scanned the mysterious woods. He then noticed a flash of light in the fog. Thinking that there might be other people in the woods, he delightedly walked towards the fog.

Alex followed the flashing light with a pounding heart. Thanks to the light he didn't get lost and found the source quickly. After exiting the fog, Alex was shocked by what he saw! The flashing light was actually produced by a frog!

Curious, Alex stared at the flashing frog in front of him, trying to find out how it could shine like so. The frog too looked at Alex. After several seconds of staring, the contest ends when the frog spoke! Mouth open wide, Alex could only look at the frog dumbly...

After recovering, Alex was surprised that the frog spoke and exclaimed loudly. The frog on the otherhand just spoke in the affirmative. It then gestured Alex to take a sit, of which the boy comply. The frog then starts to talk and explained a lot of things to the confuse boy.

The frog then proceed to tell the boy how to get out of the mysterious woods! According to frog, Alex just need to retrieve two items to bypass the fog and exit the mysterious woods. Those two items are the mystic compass and the leaf of pass.

Alex quickly spring into action after knowing the method of leaving the woods. After asking about the location of the two items. He left quickly, leaving the strange frog smiling. Alex looked for the location and quickly found the items he needed. Unfortunately, both items are guarded by huge and unfriendly toads!

Alex racked his brain and manages to trick the huge but foolish toads. He then run as fast as he could without stopping. After running for a long while, Alex finally saw the exit and was delighted. He then burst out laughing and screamed with delight! After calming down, Alex took one last look of the mysterious woods and walked home.
