IX
It was when I never knew
That everything was brand new.
A day’s sun shined bright
I thought I’d never see the light.
There was a horizon I never saw
It was too far away for us all.
A grassy slope in a mountain shadow
Was all it took to see the meadow.
Peace of mind was a lifted vale
Of which no one told.
When night comes with starry dew
At least I saw the sun’s hue.
