Brief reflection: Men's role in women's right

The real architects of the rights that women enjoy today are men. Men who today are branded as backward, as having a toxic masculinity, as patriarchal and as potential rapists, are the ones who made it possible for women to be considered equal throughout the world. The women, much less the feminists, did not achieve this, showing their shame in the middle of the street, like wild animals. It was men, strong, determined and rational men who made this achievement. It is to the men of yesteryear that modern feminists really owe gratitude for the benefits they enjoy today. No, feminism didn't accomplish this. It has achieved almost nothing, and almost nothing of importance. In every achievement and conquest of rights, there has always been a man, putting his chest and blood on. And of course, we must not forget that in those days there were women's movements against the vote. Funny, isn't it? If that is toxic masculinity, I do not regret for a moment celebrating and possessing it.

A common argument of women against this is to say:

  1. On top of that, we must thank them for doing something that only they could do at that time.

  2. There were men against the vote.

  3. Women were subject to male chauvinist thoughts.

  4. Are we to be thankful that some men saw us as equal humans?

To which I reply:

R1. Yes, you must thank them. The men who risked their lives for women's suffrage and other women's rights were the forerunners of a new era. They had nothing to gain by introducing women to public life. It was rational conviction that made these men see more of their time and play against the wind.

R2. And women against the vote too. But it was men who brought women into public life.

R3. To say that adult women are incapable of seeing beyond their nose and fighting for their rights, so much so that a man had to do it, is to despise the women of yore, whom feminists appreciate as strong for enduring all this, and even for rebelling against such a system. It is to minimize them, to make them invisible, to put them in an eternal childish state and to declare them incapable. Are you sure you really mean it? By the way, there were also women in favor of voting and so on.

R4. Yes, and very grateful. Too much. It was no man's duty. And even if they were convinced that they were equal in dignity and intelligence, they had no obligation to include them in public life or to give them full equality of rights. So yes, be thankful, and recognize the nobility and intellectual fortitude of those who put their best foot forward for you. Men of old who are now despised by feminism.

Very interesting take on this... I tend to agree. This topic makes me think of Ayn Rand because growing up, I loved to watch her shred socialists and communists with her sharp intellect but I never thought of her as masculine... Yes, she was bold, yes, she was strong but she never lost her femininity and I come to find out now she rejected the label "feminist"... it's so sad how they hate strong, good men now.
