Israel Matters, Palestine Matters, but So Does the Rest of the World

What is happening right now in the Gaza strip is really unfortunate. Let me make it clear that I hold absolutely no opinion on whether Trump made the right call or not, I just want what I think everyone wants - A peaceful 2 State Solution.
That being said, the aftermath of the Jerusalem move has been an absolute disaster, as expected. While the Palestinians accuse the Israeli army of brutality, the Israelis blame Hamas for egging the populace into violent protests at the border. Whatever the case, it is an unfortunate series of events.
While I sympathize with the happenings there, and hope for a solution once and for all, I am frustrated with the level of attention other tragedies, pressing issues and cases of repression go. Awash now on virtually all media outlets is a through analysis of the conflict; Countries all over the World are either condemning, commenting or taking action concerning the issue. My question is, what gives a tragedy in Palestine importance over a tragedy in Yemen, Nigeria or Phillipines?
Is it the involvement of the USA? Are Israeli/Palestine lives more important than others? Why is the freedom of Palestine from Israel more important than the freedom of Western Sahara from Morocco, or East Turkmenistan from China, or Kurdistan? I keep asking this question but haven't gotten a suitable answer.
If I were to answer the question, I would say perhaps it is because of the influence of Jewish nationalities on the mainstream media, or the obvious political points attached to the issue. Even then, these explanations still give more questions than answers.

Whenever there is Israel involved you can expect them to Hog all the coverage. Many in the Jewish community literally own many mainstream media outlets and may sponsor Israel financially.
