What was the most memorable event of 2018?
I am sure everyone here is all aware about the unfavorable market condition in the crypto space today because most of those cryptocurrencies prices is mostly dependent on that of Bitcoin. The most memorable event to me is the drastic fall of Bitcoin from January 1st to December 5 ( presently).
Last year seems to be a very good advantage for cryptocurrency investors compared to this year. Most of of us became part of the crypto world early this year when we heard about the drastic increase of Bitcoin and this really gave me the courage to be part of the crypto world.
This year (2018) seems to be somehow strange for me in the world of #crypto today because the price of steem and SBD was just so impressive last year compared to what is happening today. Why is it that crypto started dropping after large amounts of people joined the game this year? I do find this very astonishing. Most of us do believe this year ending will be a great boom for the crypto investors and holders but it turns out that things are not happening the way we expect.
I will share you some screenshot about the memorable event of the drastic fall of Bitcoin this year. Every crypto players can never forget this year 2018 because of the unfavorable condition that occurred in the crypto market.

Christmas is fast approaching and everyone of us is hoping to celebrate Christmas with lots of goodies and fun but this can't be possible without money 😐. Most of us will be left with no choice other than to sell our steem and SBD at low price because we have no choice 😑. We just have to keep hoping for the best and we must not give up because anything can happen at any time. Let us all come together and #promo-steem for the better and the best.

The drop in Bitcoin was anticipated by most investors. The $65 billion capitalization is still larger than companies that actually do things.
The crash of STEEM was far more dramatic.
Bitcoin will survive this drop. There is a scary possibility that STEEM could drop to a point that the STEEM blockchain fails.

People might give SteemIt.com or SteemMonster accounts for XMas. So I think there might be an end of the year bump in STEEM. There probably will be a drop after the New Years as some of the big accounts want to take their loss in 2019 instead of 2018.
The stats by @arcange show a steady drop in active accounts. It shows 50,000 users a day. How many of the users are second accounts or bots?

Hmm.. This is hectic.. But what can you say about the implementation of SMT next year.. Will there be any improvement in the price of steem?
I have no clue. I thought STEEM was supposed to be a Smart Media Token.
If SMT is not designed to enhance STEEM it could end up undermining the existing platform.
Hmm... What is your prediction about the price of steem around December ending and next year January?
My prediction was that STEEM would rise after Black Friday. I also thought $0.40 would be the low. So, my predictions aren't that good.
I think the long term price of STEEM will follow the active user count. You can find this in the daily reports by @arcange .
This report shows under 50,000 active users a day. That is not very good for an international social media site. Especially considering the huge number of bots.
There might be a bump in active users as people give SteemIt.com accounts to friends Xmas.
If so; there might be a jump in the price of STEEM.
As for January. There are probably people waiting to take their capital loss on STEEM in 2019.
There is often a dead cat bounce on troubled stocks in December followed by a steeper sell off in January.
