U.S. State Dept Deletes 'Fact Sheet' on Venezuela Which Celebrates Causing Suffering

in #politics5 years ago (edited)

The U.S. State Department has gleefully expressed and detailed how they have been undermining the government of Venezuela in order to set up their chosen puppet. The document is titled "Facet Sheet: U.S. Actions on Venezuela", and was briefly online on the State Deptarment website until they realized how sadistic they sounded to be openly admitting to what they did Venezuela, and being happy about it.

Someone took a screenshot from their mobile before it was wiped from the official record. Thankfully, the document itself was also saved. Therein, the U.S. government is showing it's hand as they gloat over their policies to ensure the Maduro government is removed from international markets and had it's overseas assets frozen.

They speak of preventing Venezuela from conducting business due to "key outcomes" of U.S. actions, like freezing "roughly $3.2 billion of Venezuela’s overseas" assets. This includes the billions in gold which the government of a Britain and banking system conspired to keep int heir hands.

Another fact they were proud of was the drop in oil production to 736,000 barrels per day in March which helped to reduce the governments' revenue. Mark Weisbrot, Co-Director at the Center For Economic and Policy Research, commented on the report, noting how he wouldn't boast and be proud to cripple a country and inflicting suffering on it's citizens for political goals:

"If I were the State Department I wouldn’t brag about causing a cut in oil production to 763,000 barrels per day — which is a 36 percent drop, in just the two months of February and March this year."

"This means even more premature deaths than the tens of thousands that resulted from sanctions last year."

I n a recent report by Weisbrot, he found over 40,000 Venezuelans died between 2017 and 2018, and that they were a direct result of U.S. imposed sanctions. If those sanctions weren't in play, the situation in Venezuela wouldn't have been so hard on the people there.

But this is what the U.S. government employees were so proud of. Causing suffering in order to bring down their political rival. But like the criminal corps who poison us then give money for "health" or the "environment", the U.S. was also proud "to provide an additional $20 million in initial humanitarian assistance”".

That's how twisted the imperialist bullies are. Giving $20, or more millions, while they caused "a loss of $6 billion in oil revenue over the ensuing year" said the report. Additionally, the U.S. boats of their U.S. funded opposition "providing medical and hygiene attention to over 6,000"/. Meanwhile, 300,000 are "estimated to be at risk because of lack of access to medicines or treatment… [including] 80,000 people with HIV who have not had antiretroviral treatment since 2017, 16,000 people who need dialysis, 16,000 people with cancer, and 4 million with diabetes and hypertension."

The document delete dby the U.S. State Department reads more like a list of confessions than anything. it makes sense why they chose to delete it from their site. It's just more proof of what they've been doing, from their own mouths.

Venezuela’s ambassador to the United Nations Samuel Moncada said:

*"Imagine if any other country says… it’s proud of saying that we are destroying the economy of our neighbor; we are proud that we destroyed the political system of our neighbor; we are proud that they are suffering. They are saying we are waging war against Venezuela."

"They [say] it’s our ‘key’ achievements. They are saying that they are causing trouble in our military and inducing a military coup, [which] so far they haven’t achieved, but they are working towards."

"If any other person says that themselves, and you take that confession to court, they would be in prison."

"They are so far out of any normal parameters of decency, morality, legality, reason, that really they are dangerous. They are a real threat to international peace, and they are a real threat to my people."

That's a blunt and accurate description of what's happened. And it would be a laughable joke if it wasn't so disturbing in it's delight to cause suffering. That's psychopathic. That's who is in charge of most of the U.S. government (and probably most other governments in the world). Psychopaths.
