Alex Jones gets kicked off another corporate social media platform

in #politics6 years ago

Alex Jones is trying to find a new home for his crumbling Infowars empire, but his latest encampment lasted mere days before he was banned from yet another digital platform. Late last week, Jones posted several videos on Vimeo, but by Sunday he and his videos had been removed from the service. Vimeo told Business Insider that it removed the videos because they “violated our Terms of Service prohibitions on discriminatory and hateful content.”

My thoughts on this news

Looks like Alex Jones tried to find a new home for his fairly tale videos. He started a new channel on Vimeo, unfortunately that did not last long, after a few days they kicked him off their website. So Alex Jones got booted by another private corporation, they claimed they kicked him off because he violated their terms of service, basically the same reason the other social media corporations booted him. Like I said in my previous post on this, freedom of speech is only guaranteed by the US Government and the Constitution. Private corporations do not have to guarantee freedom of speech to their users, you have to agree to whatever rules they create for their social media platforms when you sign up to use them. Alex Jones still has his freedom of speech and can say whatever he wants. He still has his own website and has the freedom to keep creating videos and putting them on his website. Unfortunately since Net Neutrality has been repealed now Internet Service Provider Corporations in the USA can block access to his website if they would like... That has not happened yet, but it is possible, since government rules were repealed to protect equality on the internet...

Sort:

That's capitalism. Not a globalist conspiracy.

Yep, the more unregulated capitalism is the more corporations can do whatever they want. It is funny that some of the same people who were complaining about NFL players kneeling during the national anthem and thought that the players should be punished or fired. Are now upset that other corporations just kicked out one of its users, all of a sudden it is a violation of free speech... If people want corporations to abide by the same free speech guarantees as the US Constitution offers to people, the only way to force corporations to do that is government laws and policies...
