Trump withdraws from Iran deal, UN countries may stay in the Iran deal

in #politics6 years ago

The 2015 agreement curbed Iran's nuclear activities in return for the lifting of sanctions that had been imposed by the UN, US and EU. But Mr Trump argued that the deal was "defective at its core", saying he would pull out and reimpose sanctions. Other signatories to the nuclear accord say they remain committed to it. The deal was agreed between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - the US, UK, France, China and Russia - plus Germany. It was struck under Mr Trump's predecessor, Barack Obama.

My thoughts on this news

As Trump promised he pulled out of the deal because he claims it was a terrible deal. He never explains why it was a terrible deal, I think he just does not like it because the Obama administration are the ones who made the deal. In my opinion the neocons just want more war, they need an enemy in the middle east. The USA spends $700+ billion per year on their military and weapons of war so they need to use those weapons somewhere. They need American tax payers to keep paying for these pointless wars so the neocons who own the corporations that create weapons of war can keep getting rich. So now if the remaining countries that were also in the Iran deal negotiate with Iran and continue with the deal, Trump and the USA will look like a bully war monger who cannot be trusted to make peace deals in the future...
