Western Australia coastal erosion is getting worse because of sea level rise

Western Australia could be hit with some of the worst flooding and coastal erosion it has ever seen in the next decade, as the tidal cycle combines with increased water levels caused by global warming. Recent storm damage has pounded the Western Australian coast, with the beachside town of Lancelin losing its gazebo at one of the community's main beaches, and a holiday home sliding into the ocean at nearby Wedge Island.

My thoughts on this news

More evidence of global warming this time from Australia. Looks like their beaches have been seeing some drastic erosion and even some of their roads are getting washed away. According to experts this is only the beginning of the troubling times that are ahead. They are predicting a 25cm rise in sea levels over the next decade which will destroy some of these communities in the future. Eventually they will have to decide if they want to keep spending money trying to protect some of these areas or just move. Of course spending money on sea walls or erosion control is a losing battle, when the sea rises nothing can stop it. Many people will lose their homes they have spend their life savings on...
