This is the continuity of my previous post and you can quickly [read the previous post here] in order to get the picture of what I am writing about in case you missed it.

African politicians are here to cut from the national cake, not to serve

African leaders have different approach in governing their countries. It is frustrating, yes, but it is the truth - that politicians, in African nations do not fight for seat of power just to serve their mother lands. What comes to their mind at first is "it is my time to cut from the national cake" and this is the reason they go to any length just to ensure they get to the seat of power.

The government posts are chased because of the money that could be stolen out of them, not because of the responsibility they hold. It is no more considered big deal, there is even a common saying now that goes thus "who would get to the seat of power and leave those money to rot without taking from them?". That is how much we are corrupt.

The poor children are victims and sacrifice of war

Students are children, the leaders of tomorrow. Parents send them to school with the hope of seeing them become a better person in future, and hopefully the breadwinner of the family. Most of these parents are farmers, street traders, drivers or civil servants who want a better future for their offspring. They do not want these children to become slaves to the rich families and hence, spend every of their fortunes to ensure they graduate and bring honor to the family. But what do African politicians think of these children?

While their own children are busy studying in best universities abroad, the politicians make use of the poor children whose parents are spending their hard-earned money on to see them graduate with the hope of chasing away the poverty that has been following their family for generations, in ensuring that they get to the seat of power. These children are trained to become useful tools for them and are given dangerous weapons in order to carry out dirty assignments for them. In a nutshell, these politicians have no such thing as concern about the future of the youths. All they are after is how they are going to steal the public funds for themselves and their families.

No such thing as patriots in African nations

As blacks, we have been dreaming of seeing our countries be in the same level with the Westerners and Europeans. We want to have good roads, uninterrupted electricity, good standard of education, highly functional public hospitals, good economy and the like like the Western and European nations. We want employment opportunities and foreign companies to be seated in our nation. The question is do we have patriots who are really, I mean really ready to serve the country?

Rome was not built in a day. America, United Kingdom, Germany, France and other great countries in the world got to where they are courtesy of the great service their founding fathers rendered in building their countries. Countless patriotic men and women built this great countries and made them what they are today. They died serving their country. They worked with all their energy to lay the foundation of what these countries are today. And here their children are today, enjoying the labor of their forefathers.

A country with no one ready to sacrifice himself for, truth is, it is hard for such country to flourish.

Let the pen take a rest now. The continuity is coming.
