European Union: A Totalitarian Institution Sunk In Its Foundations

in #politics6 years ago (edited)

The European Union is a geopolitical institution that covers most of the European continent, its foundation is based on a diverse number of treaties that started this institution after the Second World War. To be exact, it was founded in Paris following the Schuman Declaration and the Treaty of Rome in 1951 under the name of the European Economic Community, which had as its vision the creation of a free trade market in which member states could exchange their products freely without the need to impose regulations or tariffs. The common objective was integration and economic growth as a whole on the part of all its member states. It was founded on the liberal principles of human cooperation and freedom.

However, with the Maastricht Treaty after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain, the European Community would no longer have an economic meaning but would become an institution of a political and economic nature. The European Economic Commission was abolished in 2007 with the Treaty of Lisbon.

The European Union as a concept of integration and cooperation is highly nourishing and necessary, but since 1993 this sense has been lost, we have witnessed in the last 25 years a totalitarian European Union that imposes sanctions on its members for protecting its interests and its own benefits. In short, the European Union is more a supra-governmental institution than an institution that is responsible for the integration and joint work of its members. There is no doubt that the European Union is going through a crisis of its moral and philosophical principles.

The European Union was based for a long time on the ideas of freedom, but since its refoundation in 1993 the European Union has not only undergone changes in its political foundations but also in its philosophical and ideological foundations. In 1992 the European Socialist Party was founded, a European coalition of all parties with Marxist leanings. Coalition that would maintain the leadership and majority of the European Parliament until a few years ago.

Like any institution that becomes corrupt, it began to regulate the economy of all countries and to establish new game rules for member countries. New regulations and more obstacles to a free and healthy competition.

Since the financial crisis of subprime bonds, we have seen how the policies taken by the European Union of interference and intervention to correct the economy have simply ended in the worsening, increasing the popularity of new right-wing leaders who oppose the institution.

The answers from European leaders were the creation of austerity plans, cuts and layoffs on a large scale. The Euro was undoubtedly a big mistake for most of the member countries, not only an economic mistake but also a mistake in losing the sovereignty to regulate one's own economy in times of crisis. The European Union is following the same rescue that the Soviet Union wanted to carry out in the face of the economic crisis that that state was experiencing.

European leaders have focused on taking measures from institutions like the IMF and the ECB that focus on bailing out banks so that they can create another bubble again as they have always done. Instead of solving the continuous bleeding of public resources and supporting the economic activity that generates employment and reactivates demand, the European Union is focused on maintaining and rescuing the same hegemonic centers guilty of the same crisis, the same leftist globalist recipe that has been controlling the world.

The withdrawal of Keynesian public spending that would make private spending flow and private consumption that would help reduce countries' debt levels never happened. Austerity had more devastating effects, completely collapsed economic activity and reduced citizens' public revenues. As a solution to this problem, the European Union had the great idea of injecting huge amounts of money into the bank without it flowing into the real economy.

However, not only did the banks benefit from maintaining their hegemony in the face of the deplorable crisis that they themselves sponsored, Germany also benefited from the crisis, a country under Angela Merkel's current leadership. Merkel has kept the euro in force with a series of rules on competitiveness with other countries on her own model, without recognizing that all these economies are not similar to her own. This proves that from the very beginning of the creation of the euro it was a mistake since it was imposed on countries such as Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece as an internal devaluation of purchasing power.

It is therefore essential that solutions be found to the errors that have already been made. The restructuring of the euro area requires a great deal of political will to put an end to the maintenance of the hegemony of the current financial system and to the rescue of the real economy and employment.

Faced with this situation, many conservative politicians who advocate free markets and the individual freedom of states to make their own decisions have emerged. Parties such as the Northern League of Italy or the Alternative for Germany, like others, are opposed to continuing to be part of the mistakes of the failed European Union.

As a result of these mistakes and the hegemony that the states have lost, new waves of nationalism have emerged throughout Europe, Brexit was nothing more than a result of the policy that Marxists have been making since 1993. New countries have opposed the measures that undermine the sovereignty of each country and the Visegrad group was created, a group that opposes the political subjugation that the European Union is sponsoring by imposing its measures. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has been a fierce critic of the same institution and even of Germany, the prime minister says that Germany is taking advantage of the crisis and seeking to spread its hegemony throughout Europe.

The leaders of the Visegrad's group belong to a new political class that opposes the globalized world order of the left. Their main objective is to ensure that the decisions taken in the institution not only benefit countries such as Germany or France, but that they also benefit from the same and leave aside austerity. Their criticisms fall on the pillars of the institution: the quotas imposed on their countries for illegal immigration, the formation of supra-governmental structures, the loss of their autonomy and the reduction of the role of the State in the new world order.

The problem of uncontrolled immigration is undoubtedly affecting the well-being of many European citizens. There is no doubt that this European crisis has been at fault from the outset and it has been the European Union, which has not been able to manage those who enter and those who leave Europe in a coherent manner. Since the beginning of the problem of illegal immigration to Europe, we have seen how the solution to the problem has been to increase the acceptance rate of these immigrants, who, although some of them are refugees, there is no doubt that most of them are economic immigrants.

The drastic increase in immigration from Muslim countries has had negative consequences for those countries that receive the quotas imposed by the European Union. These countries face challenges that are not only economic but also demographic and cultural. This has resulted in some countries, mainly in Eastern Europe, refusing to open their borders to immigrants because of their unstable economies and the fear that their heritage will disappear and become a multicultural society. Other countries such as Germany and France maintain the view that immigrants should be welcomed into their countries, and have undoubtedly been more affected by migration problems.

Instability and insecurity have soared in all the countries that have taken in immigrants. The levels of rape in Sweden have skyrocketed sincerely they affect consciousness and pose new solutions such as isolation to end this problem. Immigrants are attracted to Europe mainly by their laws to grant residence to members of the refugee family, which is why immigrants do not go to Europe because they consider it a worthy country to live in, they go to places with better economic benefits, that is to say countries like Germany, France and England are the main focus of attraction for these immigrants, who do not spend any time learning about the culture of the nation they are welcomed in, they end up isolating themselves in sub-groups that lead to getthos, they feel nothing but repulsion and hatred for those who host them.

According to official statistics of the United Nations (UN), by 2050, Muslims will make up 35% of Europe's population. European experts insist that immigrants must respect the values of the continent's societies, which is practically impossible, since these values, which are normally the result of modernism and post-modernism, contravene the traditional values of Muslim communities, from which the majority of refugees come from. In other words, the European Union maintains a failed integration policy based on cultures that are opposed to each other and which are not tolerated.

Beyond the economic and migration problem that the European Union faces. The biggest problem and the one that must disappear immediately is its supranational power. With the Treaty of Lisbon, this state was given the characteristics of displacing decision-making at national level by its countries and regulates the development of a "community" right of the citizens who are members of the institution and its decisions and policies became legally binding. Member States have been gradually losing sovereignty because of Community law and the increasingly important role that the European courts responsible for its application are playing. The importance of this body of law lies in its supremacy over the national constitutional law of the member states, i.e. national judges must prefer Community law to the laws of their own states.

And so the sovereignty of many countries has been lost, the power that was conferred on the European Union is very similar to the principles of the collective good, that is to say that individual rights are nullified for a collective benefit. And that is exactly where the European Union's big problem lies because it violates the freedoms on which it was once founded. The democracy that its leaders hoist and talk about does not exist within the same body, there is a parliament, yes, to discuss ideas and carry out nothing. The body responsible for taking decisions and passing new laws is the European Commission, whose leaders are not elected by the European citizens. This commission only maintains the status quo and the current financial system.

Brussels is increasingly distancing itself from the citizens and is not concerned with solving their problems, and as if this were not enough, the corruption in the body leaves much to be desired in terms of a solution to all the problems facing Europe. The European Union stays away from citizens who do not directly elect the people who regulate and pass laws that are imposed in all member states.

To conclude I would like to summarise all the content expressed in condensed form about what is happening in Europe and the European Union in these videos by Nigel Farage criticising the mistakes of the European Union and its leaders in the European Parliament.

First of all, I tell you that it is a very good publication. It caught my attention because, a few months ago, I wrote about the probably Marxian character of the European Union. And I think it's very pertinent to what you say in this publication.

Globalization is the ultimate form of Statism

However, I have given myself the task of starting to read Das Kapital, because I am beginning to believe that what we call "international market" or "free trade agreements" are nothing more than the integration of nations into a production model neo-communist.

Thanks for your comment! I'm gonna take a look at that.

I'm pretty skeptical on what to expect about this international status quo. But Indeed, the European Union is fulfilling their demand for everything they ask for.
